When Jesus Saw Her

shoutout to Ari Shojaei for the image.

So today i tried to give my sister a piggyback ride and now I have a lower back pain (LOL) everytime i get up i just can't stand up straight, but this whole thing made me think about this woman that appears briefly in luke 13, she was bent over for 18 years. Can you imagine being bent over for all those years, looking down with your vision of life being taken away from you, the only vision you have is the floor.

I wonder if she got used to it and lost confidence that things could actually change one day. I also wonder if she lost the vision of herself, of possibilities, of what could be ahead and how big the above was.

It's beautiful how Jesus CALLED her FORWARD. He asked her to take a step, to move past the frustration, to leave all of that behind. He literally put an end to her 18 years of suffering. It's beautiful how He put his hands on her and she straightened up. It takes one touch from Jesus in your wounds. She met hope that day, after one encounter with Jesus everything changed.

I can learn so much from her story. That's exactly how we end up living when we lose our trust and hope in God, life is not that exciting anymore, we live with our visions limited, we see no sky, we see the floor, after so many years of waiting and praying, believing but not seeing the fruit, we start bending over, towards the end, we give up slowly, but one touch from Jesus, and you are straightened up.

She praised God. How amazing. I pray Jesus wil
l meet you in your hurting place and get you by the hand and lift you up from the ground, I pray hope will rise again, I pray your vision will be restored and you'll be able to see that there's a new chapter written by God for you to live, there's hope for you, it's not too late. Jesus wants to touch our pain and make us whole again. I want to leave this as a declaration: ''When Jesus saw her'' it's where it all began, and I know He sees you and me today.

On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, ‘Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.’ Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
