Missing The Past

shoutout to Ivan Shimko for the image

Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
Isaiah 43:18-19

Why Are We Always Thinking About Our Past

Have you ever thought that your life was better in the past? That the breathtaking adventures, the best part of your life and the best version of you, the perfect moments are all behind you, and you find yourself hopeless, missing what's gone, missing the way God used to do things in your life, you love your past but you're struggling to see the goodness of God in your present, when you look at now you feel like you've lost the fight, your future is blurry, all the good part was left behind. You say to yourself: It's over.

But no. It's not over when God keeps writing. It's not over until He says so. He has the last word. God led me to His scripture, if your heart is beating, this is for you, because it means God's not done with you, it means He has a bright future full of hope and joy.

It's not always going to be this way, depression and anxiety won't always have the best of you, you won't be stuck in sorrow forever, if you ran out of plans, God still has a plan for you.

The storm will pass. The rainbow will come. This hurting will pass. You only need to trust. Trust whilst you wait. Trust whilst you seek His face, as you dive into His word, you can't give up, He wants to do a new thing, fresh brand new for new seasons.

Do you believe it?

Psalm 27:13
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
