The Bird Miracle Part 1
Around 6 pm I went out for a walk, like I usually do, but something unusual happened. Whilst I was walking on the street a (perhaps 2 weeks old ish) baby sparrow came out of nowhere flapping around, looking injured, I looked at my mum and she said: he probably got hit by a car. Whilst he was flapping around, trying to sit, I was completely crushed to see his condition, he calmed down, his little eyes closing, we didn't know what to do.
There was absolutely no one on the streets except us, and the only place that helps injured animals here is the Vet, where they don't treat birds. We stayed there discussing what we could do for more than 10 minutes, if I should grab him and bring him home, but what if he dies whilst i hold him, or what if he'll get agitated and hurt himself even more... so we decided to go back home and ask for help, tears rolled down my face as I thought to myself: How can I abandon this baby bird knowing he's feeling pain and all alone, and my mum also touched by this whole thing, being a bird lover said: it's better to leave him in nature than to bring him home with us, since they can heal alone sometimes and we don't know how to treat an injured bird and he'll probably die.
As we got home, I decided to bring him water and bird seed, when we saw him the second time, his eyes were open, I could see he was breathing, and for me to think that there was a chance he could live and just leave him there made my heart ache. We were on our way home, my mind was like: What if a cat eats him at night, Lord God I can't abandon him.. when out of a sudden this woman shows up on our way walking her dog, and I freak out and I say to my mum and sis: Please tell this woman about the injured baby bird so her dog won't hurt him, when my mum stopped this woman and told her everything, this woman got super worried and anxious and said: where is him? my husband takes care of birds, once we treated a hummingbird.
When I heard that I was like: WHAT that's impossible... she ran towards the baby sparrow to see if he was okay, then ran to get her husband, once he got there, he tried to grab him but he started flapping again and failing to fly or even to get back to a sitting position, we could see he had a fractured neck, and the woman yelled at her husband: ''help him!!'' he finally hold the baby bird and as I was watching them I felt so emotional and it was impossible not to see God in all of that.
They looked at us and said: we''ll take care of him, then they ran back to their home with the baby sparrow.
I came home in awe. So many thoughts crossed my mind, the first one was: How on earth the only person we crossed paths had the professional help we needed to treat that bird. Never in my life I met someone whose job was to treat birds.
Then the Lord started talking to me, these verses came up to me:
Matthew 6:26 “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?''
Luke 12:6 ''Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God.''
Luke 12:7 ''Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.''
It wasn't about the wild baby bird. It wasn't about God's making a way for a little bird, or about the woman who was willing to help and save an animal.
It was all about God's love for you and me. That was all a way of God saying: I love you. I take care of you. I care about you. Sometimes you think I left you there to perish, sometimes you think I abandoned you, but you are wrong.
If I Letisha, human, full of flaws and a sinner, felt that huge compassion, love and heartbroken seeing an injured bird, can you imagine GOD about US? Wow this is powerful.
Do we really think God doesn't feel our pain? Your hurting, your disease, your grief, if my heart can break for an animal, imagine God's when He sees us suffering.
I want you all to know, the enemy has been lying to you if you thought God does not care about what you're going through.
He didn't leave. I guarantee He is right there with you!
Oh boy, if He feeds the bird, do you really think He will let you starve?
